Process
Gather data & research competitors
Decide what data is best to show, research how competitors display to see how users are used to viewing sports stats
Group & sort
Group and sort data to match user expectation
Wireframes
Draw simple wireframes to understand layout and hierarchy
Basic lo-fi designs
Hand draw each screen to get a sense of what kind of visuals we can use to portray different information
Feedback
Get feedback from multiple internal stakeholders and some external users
Iterate on lo-fi designs
Hi-fi designs
Finalize UI elements and get screens ready for development
Design Challenges
1 - Balancing data density and clarity. Sports stats contain large amounts of complex data which can overwhelm users if not presented clearly.
Solutions:
- Progressive disclosures
- Organize, chunk, and separate data into different tabs/pages
2 - Visualizing complex data.
Solutions:
- Charts and graphs to make things more digestible
- Visual cues (colors, highlights)
3 - Avoid information overload.
Solutions:
- Use whitespace and clear categorization
- Limit stats shown to most important ones
- Highlight relevant data
Background
What is Rithmm?
Rithmm is a mobile app giving its users the ability to personalize sports betting models.
A sports betting model utilizes predictive analytics and historical data to predict the outcome of upcoming games. You input what you think is important to the outcome of a game and from there, Rithmm's algorithm builds a unique model. This model is then able to tell you what bet to take based on win probability and risk to reward ratio. All of this makes for a smarter, better bettor.

Roster
The Roster page shows the players on the team, their position, along with the player's stats.

The Standings page shows how this team stacks up against others in the league or conferences. User can select different seasons and sort by different stats like win/loss, against the spread, last 10 games, and more.
Completed Game / Boxscore
A screen dedicated to a past, completed game.
Accessed from the 'Schedule' page on the Research tab.
This page shows users the final score, a comparison between the 2 teams that played, and the box score (stats from the game per player).
